Made this piece around eight years ago. It was my first time using gouache and I added four origami butterflies once the gouache dried.

I was playing around with gouache, planning to create a space landscape when I quickly realized that gouache wasn’t going to work as a base. I didn’t want to waste the canvas or completely erase what I had started so I turned to an old Chinese brush book that I have and used it for inspiration and reference.
